Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alumina-based oxide continuous fiber less in reduction of tensile strength even when used under high temperature atmosphere for long time, containing no boron and excellent in heat resistance.SOLUTION: There is provided an alumina-based oxide continuous fiber containing alumina of 70 to 75 wt.% based on all components as a main component, silica of 20 to 29.7 wt.% based on all components and oxide of iron, magnesium, copper, yttrium, zirconium, nickel or zinc as a third component of prescribed amount and having mullite ratio of 5 to 50% in the whole crystal structure in the fiber, obtained by burning a precursor fiber obtained by dry spinning with using a compound of the metal as a starting raw material thereof.SELECTED DRAWING: None
