Abstract:
To provide an engine capable of suppressing the thermal deterioration of an exhaust throttle device by enhancing an EGR rate.SOLUTION: The engine including a main water channel 21 for water-cooling an engine body 20, an EGR cooler 23, and an exhaust throttle device 8, further includes a pair of bypass water channels 22, 24 individually branched from the main water channel 21, the exhaust throttle device 8 and the EGR cooler 23 being connected to the pair of bypass water channels 22, 24, respectively. The main water channel 21 is constructed so that a cooling water pump 25 is driven to circulate main cooling water 21a to a water jacket 20d of a cylinder block 20a, a water jacket 20e of a cylinder head 20b, and a radiator 26, in sequence. The bypass water channel 24 to which the EGR cooler 23 is connected is desirably branched from the water jacket 20d of the cylinder block 20a.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
