PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water treatment system using polylactic acid porous particles and a water treatment method using the system.SOLUTION: A water treatment system 10 comprises: a raw water tank 11 into which raw water containing sulfate ions and anions of inorganic compounds other than sulfate ions; a barium tank 12 for holding barium aqueous solution containing barium ions; a first turbid water treatment device 13 into which mixed liquid of the raw water introduced into the raw water tank 11 and the barium aqueous solution mixed with the raw water is introduced to separate barium sulfate contained in the mixed liquid and first supernatant liquid; an adsorption tank 14 into which the first supernatant liquid is introduced; and a chemical tank 15 for holding chemical liquid containing the polylactic acid porous particles.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
