Abstract:
To provide a riser system for metal casting including a riser sleeve fit to a tubular body.SOLUTION: A riser sleeve has first and second ends and a longitudinal axis extending between the first end and the second end, and includes a continuing sidewall that defines a cavity for receiving a liquid metal during casting and extends substantially around the longitudinal axis, in which the sidewall has a base portion at the first end of the riser sleeve. The riser sleeve includes at least one cut-out extending in the sidewall from the base portion to a first depth.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
