PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select a test case evaluating software properly.SOLUTION: A calculator for selecting a test case: analyzes software to generate first correspondence information managing correspondence between a function and a variable and correlation information managing relevance degrees indicating the strength of relevance between a program function and a variable; accepts information on a focused function and second correspondence information managing correspondence between a test case and the function; specifies a first variable related to the focused function on the basis of the first correspondence information; calculates a first relevance degree indicating the strength of relevance between a second variable related to a first program function and the first variable on the basis of the correlation information; calculates a selection index for each function registered to the first correspondence information on the basis of the first correspondence information and the first relevance degree; and selects a test case on the basis of the second correspondence information and the selection index.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
