Abstract:
To provide a passenger conveyor capable of accurately estimating the current degree of congestion of the conveyor without providing a sensor for detecting the amount of passengers.SOLUTION: A passenger conveyor includes endlessly-connected steps, a motor for driving the steps, an inverter that is inputted with electric power from the outside and supplies electric power for driving to the motor, and a control unit. The inverter estimates the current output torque of the motor on the basis of the output current value of the motor, and outputs a signal indicating a torque range to which the output torque belongs. The control unit estimates a boarding rate range to which the current boarding rate of the passenger conveyor belongs, on the basis of the torque range indicated by the signal outputted from the inverter.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
