Abstract:
To provide a method for reducing the concentration of the radioactive cesium in a radioactive cesium-containing material by separating the radioactive cesium from the radioactive cesium-containing material (burned ashes, for example) and condensing and recovering the radioactive cesium.SOLUTION: The method for removing radioactive cesium includes the steps of: extracting the radioactive cesium from a radioactive cesium-containing material by a cleaning fluid; flowing the extracted cleaning fluid containing radioactive cesium in at least two adsorption means to make the radioactive cesium adsorbed in the adsorption means; and eluting the radioactive cesium adsorbed in the highest adsorption means by flowing the elution fluid in the highest adsorption means alone, and reusing the elution fluid containing the eluted radioactive cesium.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
