Abstract:
To provide an agricultural product freshness maintenance device and an agricultural product freshness maintenance method capable of achieving agricultural product freshness maintenance.SOLUTION: An agricultural product freshness maintenance device includes: a light source for irradiating an agricultural product with lights including a light in a near-infrared ray region, and a light in an ultraviolet light; a lighting circuit for applying a pulse voltage to the light source; and a controller for controlling the lighting circuit. The light source includes: a cylindrical light emitting tube; a pair of electrodes provided facing the internal space of the light emitting tube; a discharge medium encapsulated in the internal space of the light emitting tube; and a trigger electrode provided to the outside of the light emitting tube. The lighting circuit is electrically connected to one electrode of the pair of electrodes and the trigger electrode.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
