Abstract:
To enhance the lubricity of a lip front end by using sealed object liquid or semisolid which can be used for securing the lubricity.SOLUTION: A sealing device 10 includes an annular lip 12 for contacting an outer peripheral face 7a of a shaft 7 to be rotated, to prevent the leakage of oil L on one axial side to the other axial side, the lip 12 having a lip front end 20 for slide-contacting the outer peripheral face 7a of the shaft 7, a first surface 21 provided on one axial side of the lip front end 20 and including a face having an inner diameter gradually larger as extending to one axial side, and a second surface 22 provided on the other axial side of the lip front end 20 and including a face having an inner diameter gradually larger as extending to the other axial side, the first surface 21 having an inside face 31 adjacent to the lip front end 20, and an outside face 32 adjacent to the radial outside of the inside face 31, the outside face 32 being provided with a projection 33 or a groove 34 for guiding to the radial inward the oil L to be pushed by air flowing in the peripheral direction with the rotation of the shaft 7.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
