Abstract:
Aprocess is disclosed for producing alkylbenzenes by the alkylation of aromatic hydrocarbons with olefins. High reactivity and selectivity are provided by the use of a catalyst comprising sodium and/or sodium amide deposited on a carrier represented by the formula K2O. x Al2O3 where x is 0.5 ≤x≤11.
