Abstract:
The invention relates to an engine brake with a throttle valve built into the cylinder head for the purpose of controlling a valve opening which is connected to the outlet passage and is arranged in a recess in the base of the cylinder head in a manner offset in relation to the surface on the combustion-chamber side. To improve the flow round the opened throttle valve, the recess is provided with a widened portion extending in the direction of that surface of the base of the cylinder head which is on the combustion-chamber side.
