Abstract:
PURPOSE:To accelerate response by detecting the pulse period between the first pulses and setting a reference pulse rate for averaging on the basis of the pulse period and operating a pulse rate value on the basis of averaging of the respective pulse detection values of the set number of pulse periods. CONSTITUTION:When the initial pulse is inputted from a pulse sensor 11, the timer in a microprocessor 9 is turned ON and, when the next pulse is inputted, the timer is turned OFF and the number of pulses of the timer is read and the number of pulse periods averaged by the pulse value (that is, the time) of the timer is set. That is, a reference pulse rate for averaging is determined by the initial pulse period 6. Now, when the pulse rate for averaging is judged to be the average of four pulse periods in the initial pulse period 6, a pulse period 7 is measured and the result thereof is displayed and, when the pulse rate is judged to be the average of six pulse periods in the initial pulse period 6, a pulse period 8 is measured and the result thereof is displayed.
