Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS4810243
Kind Code:
B1
Abstract:
1,237,234. Distribution frames. HITACHI Ltd. 28 Oct., 1968 [1 Nov., 1967], No. 50968/68. Heading H4K. [Also in Division H2] A distribution plug-board for use in a telephone exchange comprises a plurality of first connectors for connection to input cables, a plurality of second connectors for connection to output cables, the first and second connectors being interchangeably paired to form blocks, and link connectors being provided to interconnect the connectors of each pair. As shown, Fig. 1, a frame 11 comprises vertical members 12 spanned by cross-members 13. Between the bottom two cross-members a row of terminal boards 14 is secured; between other adjacent cross-members jack-blocks 15 are secured, each adapted to co-operate with ten link plugs 30. Each jack-block 15 is formed from three socket connectors 15a, 15b, 15c, Fig. 5, each connector comprising ten pairs of socket contacts, one pair of contacts only in each block being shown. A subscribers' cable 19 terminates at a terminal board 14, each subscriber's pair of wires being connected, via bundled wires 22a, to a pair of contacts in a socket connector 15a. Cables 20 to exchange switching apparatus have pairs of wires connected to pairs of contacts in socket connectors 15b. The third socket connector 15c has its pairs of contacts connected via wires 21 to an alarm device and power source therefore 40. Each link plug 30 comprises three pairs of male contacts 31a, b, 32a, b, 33a, b, which are inserted in pairs of socket contacts in connectors 15a, 15c, 15b, respectively, thus, normally, completing a connection between a pair of subscribers' wires and a pair of exchange wires. An overload current at connector 15a actuates devices 34a, 34b in plug 30, so that fuses opencircuit, and relays operate to complete a circuit to alarm device 40; lightning arresters 35a, 35b are also provided. Test contacts 36a, 36b in plug 30 are accessible through windows (37, Fig. 4, not shown), and further windows (38) allow visual inspection of devices 34a, 34b. Sockets connectors 15a in each row of blocks are interchangeable, to permit equalization of loading of exchange equipment.
