Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS4943983
Kind Code:
B1
Abstract:
1,224,322. Photographic processing control. LOGETRONICS Inc. Nov. 1, 1968 [April 17, 1968j, No.51980/68. Heading G2A. In order to control a photographic film processing apparatus (e.g. as regards chemical concentration, temperature, etc), a preliminary exposure is made of a test strip, which may be a separate piece of film, or an unexposed edge of the film sheet itself. Fig. 1 shows the complete processing apparatus, comprising a feed and control section 10, a processing section 11 and a drier section 12. At one side of the feed platform 14 over which a film sheet is passed to enter the processing section 11 between rollers 15, is incorporated a housing 16 enclosing the test exposure section, shown in more detail in Fig. 4. This comprises a movable platen 38 of sandwich construction, consisting of a support element 85, and spaced apart from it a window element 86 having an interchangeable transparent part of variable density. Between elements 85 and 86 is a thin electro-luminescent lamp 39. The whole platen unit 38 is normally retracted upwards by springs 82, 83. Below platen 38, and normally spaced from it, is a resilient platen 20. In use, an unexposed corner of the exposed film sheet (or a suitable separate piece of identical unexposed film) is placed on platen 20, and a solenoid 37 is energized. This drives platen 38 downwards against springs 82, 83, so clamping the test film firmly between window 86 and lower platen 20. The lamp is now switched on for a predetermined time at a predetermined intensity, both of which can be varied as required.
