1438592 Aqueous dispersions of TFE polymers E I DU PONT DE NEMOURS & CO 1 June 1973 [2 June 1972] 26320/73 Heading C3P An aqueous filler-containing composition comprises (i) an aqueous dispersion containing 45 to 75% by wt. of PTFE or a copolymer of TFE with up to 35% by wt. of a different perfluorinated ethylenically unsaturated comonomer, at least 5% by wt. of a nonionic surfactant, based on the weight of polymer, and sufficient electrolyte to give the dispersion an ionic strength of at least 0À01 moles per kg. of dispersion, and (ii) 10 to 40% by wt. of filler, based on the combined weight of polymer and filler the filler-containing composition having a viscosity of at least 50 cp. The electrolyte may be an inorganic barium or potassium salt, the filler may be glass, particularly glass beads, the surfactant may be an ethoxylated aliphatic alcohol or ethoxylated alkyl phenol, and the composition may be used for coating glass fabrics.
