1298313 4-Aminoquinazolines INNOTHERA 19 April 1971 [16 Feb 1970] 21909/71 Heading C2C The invention comprises compounds of formula and their addition salts with pharmaceutically acceptable acids, wherein R 1 is MeO(CH 2 ) 2-3 NH, EtO(CH 2 ) 2-3 NH, cyclopentylamino, hexamethyleneimino, CF 3 C 6 H 4 NH, furyl-2- or 3-methylamino, or tetrahydrofuryl-2- or 3-methylamino; R is H, Ph (optionally substituted), naphthyl, or a radical derived from unsubstituted furan, thiophene, pyridine, picoline, benzofuran, benzothiophene; and R 2 , R 3 are each H or Cl. These compounds are prepared by reacting the corresponding 4-quinazolone with POCl 3 , followed by reaction of the 4-chloroquinazoline with the appropriate amine. Therapeutic compositions for oral or parenteral administration comprise compounds of the above formula, which have diuretic activity.
