Abstract:
1,233,152. Lubricants. MOBIL OIL CORP. 3 June, 1969 [2 Jan., 1969], No. 27961/69. Heading C5F. A mixture of 10-90 wt. per cent of a monochloro compound and 90-10 wt. per cent of a dichloro compound, each of the Formula (A) wherein each of a to d is 0 or 1 and the sum of a to d is 1 or 2, optionally together with up to 10 wt. per cent m-diphenoxybenzene, is used as a lubricant or as a component of lubricant compositions. Suitable chloro compounds are 1 - (p - chlorophenoxy) - 3 - phenoxybenzene, 1 - (m - chlorophenoxy) - 3 - phenoxybenzene; m - bis(m - chlorophenoxy)benzene, and mbis(p-chlorophenoxybenzene). The mixture of chloro compounds is used in lubricants which can also contain mineral oils, olefin and polyolefin fluids, alkylene oxide fluids, polyaryl ether and thioether fluids, silicone fluids, liquid polyacetates, diesters of dicarboxylic acids and monohydric alcohols, and the trimethylol propane and pentaerythritol esters of monocarboxylic acids, and in greases together with 5-30 wt. per cent of soaps and clays.
