Abstract:
A dye developer for silver halide photography comprising both a dye moiety represented by the following general formula (I): (I) wherein R represents a halogen atom or an alkyl group containing 1 to 4 carbon atoms; k is an integer of from 0 to 4; A represents an acyl group containing 1 to 4 carbon atoms or an alkoxyacyl group containing from 2 to 4 carbon atoms; Ar represents an aromatic nucleus; X represents a halogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, an acyl group or an acyloxy group, each containing 1 to 4 carbon atoms and l is an integer of from 0 to 4; and a polyhydric phenol moiety having silver halide developing activity.
