Abstract:
Thermolabile E. coli enterotoxin is isolated from a crude or prepurified cell-free culture filtrate obtained by culturing an enteropathogenic E. coli strain, by subjecting the culture filtrate to isotachophoretic sepn. or affinity-chromatographic sepn. The enterotoxin can be used to prepare vaccines and sera for immunisation against E. coli injections and cholera. The enterotoxin is obtained in very high purity.
