Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5178238
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
1501210 Applying markings to copy sheets G RITZERFELD 25 Sept 1975 [20 Dec 1974] 39267/75 Heading B6C In apparatus where part or the whole of an original is copied on to sheets, cards, or tickets, marks are applied to the individual sheets, cards or tickets to indicate the application to which the sheet, card or ticket is to be allocated. The invention may be applied, for example, to a rotary duplicator, Fig. 1, a direct electrostatic copier, Fig. 2, or a xerographic copier, Fig. 3 (Figs. 1 to 3, not shown) provided with devices capable of selecting from only part of the original to be copied. After the printing step the sheets, cards or tickets are fed between conveying roller pairs 20, 21, 22 and 23, 24 and 25, Fig. 4, under a marking device comprising a plurality of separate rollers 27 positioned across a feed path and co-operating with impression rollers 26. Individual rollers 27 in contact with reservoir rollers 30 containing different-coloured inks may be selectively lowered under the action of electromagnets 28, when a card has been sensed at 31. The selective control of the electromagnets may be manual, from a keyboard, programmed from punched card or tape, or in response to markings on the original being copied. A counter can be incorporated in the control system. Marks can be applied to both sides of the sheet, card or ticket if a further set of inking rollers (91) is provided on the other side of the feed path, Fig. 5 (not shown). The inking rollers 27 may be patterned.
