Japanese Patent JPS5415743
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
1462395 Transistor amplifying and switching circuits TEKTRONIX Inc 22 Jan 1974 [12 Feb 1973] 2856/74 Heading H3T An amplifier or switch, more particularly for feeding a capacitive deflection circuit, comprises first and second amplifier devices 10, 16 (Fig. 1) for carrying load current in respective directions, a bootstrap circuit (including Zener diode 24) for maintaining a constant quiescent through the amplifier devices and a current steering circuit comprising transistors 12, 14 and 18 located between the devices for steering the load current to amplifiers 10 and 16 respectively in accordance with the direction of the current. The steering circuit is in the form of a current mirror amplifier and may take the alternative form shown in Fig. 3. Negative feedback is provided through resistor 26. In Fig. 2, the feedback is via an active network comprising resistors 42,44, 46, 48 and emitter-follower 40, Fig. 2, while a transistor 24 with collector strapped to base functions in the Zener diode. Additional series transistors are provided to enable the circuit to handle larger voltage swings, including Darling- ton pair 50, 52: this minimizes loading on the feedback network. Resistor 56 provides a current path for reverse base current during large voltage excursions and avoids breakdown. Transistor 54 provides a grounded base stage reducing the Miller effect in transistor 16. In the upper part of the amplifier transistors 64, 66 and 60, 62 from Darlington pairs, resistors 76, 74 again providing for reverse base currents on large voltage excursions.
