PURPOSE: To provide a dental alloy having a specified composition consisting of Pd and C and/or Ni as principal components and one or more among rare earth elements, Zr, Mo, W, In and Ge as secondary components and suitable for bonding to ceramics by baking or for magnetic prosthesis and orthodontics.
CONSTITUTION: This dental alloy consists of, by weight, ≤30% in total of one or more among rare earth elements, Zr, Mo, W, In and Ge as secondary components, 20W90% Pd and the balance Co and/or Ni a principal components. By further adding ≤20% in total of one or more among Cr, Mn, Re, Pt, Cu, Ag, Au, Zn, Al, Ga, Zn and Pb, the castability, suitability to bonding to ceramics by baking, corrosion resistance, hardness, elongation, tensile strength, shape, dimensions, etc. can be improved furthermore. Among said components Pd may be replaced partially or wholly with Ru, Rh, Os, or Ir, Ge with Si, Co or Ni with Fe, and Zr with Ti, Hf, V, Nb or Ta.
