PURPOSE: To increase the safety for operation of an automobile, by detecting negative acceleration through an acceleration detector mounted to the automobile and turning on a brake lamp with this detection of the acceleration.
CONSTITUTION: A circuit closing a contact for rapid deceleration is parallelly provided to a contact 2 of a brake lamp 3 opened and closed by a brake pedal 2. Now if negative acceleration is caused by rapid deceleration, a weight 7 is deflected to the front, and a conductor rod 6 is contacted to a contact 8 to turn on the brake lamp 3 by this conduction. Further turn-on operation for the negative acceleration can be optionally adjusted by weight of the weight 7 and the spring constant of a spring 5. In this way, the brake lamp is turned on even for a rapid decrease of speed not only when the brake pedal is depressed but when an engine brake is applied or when an emergency side brake is misoperatively applied, and the safety can be ensured.
