PURPOSE: To obtain the liquid-fuel catalytic combustor, which conducts a stable oxidation reaction having excellent efficiency even under an air-fuel ratio extending over a wide range and exhaust gas therefrom is clean, by evaporating liquid fuel and supplying it onto a catalyst body together with combustion air.
CONSTITUTION: A cylindrical evaporating element 2, a lower section thereof has a suction wick 1, is exposed to the inner lower section of a fuel evaporating chamber 6 formed by a section between a cylinder 4 with a large number of air holes 3 and an outer cylinder 5. The lower end of the suction wick 1 is immersed into liquid fuel 8 in a fuel tank 7. The upper section of the cylinder 4 is closed, and the ring-shaped catalyst bodies 10, which are fixed by the inner cylinder 4 and the outer cylinder 5 and have a large number of small holes 9, are arranged to the upper section of the fuel evaporating chamber 6. Accordingly, the stable oxidation reaction having excellent efficiency is enabled even under the air-fuel ratio extending over a wide range.
