Abstract:
The vibratory barrel finishing machine comprises a single or multiple barrel arrangement of an elongated ellipse from in plan view. The ellipse includes parallel straight longitudinal barrel sections connecting semi-circular barrel sections at opposite ends. The machine is vibrated so that a mass, comprising a mixture of unfinished workpieces and abrasive media, flows with a spiral motion through the barrel. The semi-circular barrel section have a descending-slope path in the direction of the flow. The straight barrel sections have an ascending-slope path in the direction of the mass flow.
