Abstract:
A battery according to the present disclosure is provided with a power generation element having a structure in which a plurality of power generation layers and a plurality of current collectors are stacked. Each of the plurality of power generation layers has an electrode layer, a counter electrode layer, and a solid electrolyte layer located between the electrode layer and the counter electrode layer. The plurality of current collectors includes counter electrode current collectors electrically connected to the counter electrode layers, and electrode current collectors electrically connected to the electrode layers. A side surface of the power generation element includes a first region in which each of the power generation layers have not receded further than a current collector, from among the plurality of current collectors, that is adjacent to each of the power generation layers, and a second region in which each of the power generation layers recedes further than the current collector, from among the plurality of current collectors, that is adjacent to each of the power generation layers, thus forming a recess. Provided in the second region are an insulation member for covering the electrode layers and the electrode current collectors, and an electroconductive member that covers the second region and the insulation member and that is electrically connected to at least one principal surface of the counter electrode current collectors.
