Abstract:
To obtain a photothermographic element which minimizes the formation of fog and is excellent in print stability.
The photothermographic element includes a substrate coated with an image forming coating containing (a) photosensitive silver halide, (b) a nonphotosensitive reducible silver source, (c) a reducer system for silver ions and (d) a binder and further contains a benzotriazole compound of formula I, wherein R is ≤20C alkyl or alkenyl, ≤20C aryl, alkaryl or aralkyl, an aliphatic or aromatic heterocyclic group containing ≤6 ring atoms or a ≤6C carbocyclic group.
