Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:Sodium 7β-( 2D-2-amino-2-carboxyethylthioacetamide )-7α-methoxy-3-( 1-methyl- 1H -tetrazol- 5 -yl )thiomethyl-3-cephem-4-carboxylate heptahydrate.
USE: An antibacterial with high safety and stability.
PREPARATION: A solution of sodium 7β-(2D- 2 -amino- 2 -carboxylethylthioacetamide)-7α-methoxy-3-( 1-methyl-1H-tetrazol-5-yl )-thiomethyl-3-cephem-4-carboxylate of formula I in water or an aqueous medium is adjusted in pH to 4.0W7.5 to effect the precipitation of crystals, thus giving its heptahydrate. The concentration of the sodium salt solution is preferably 30W50wt% and the temperature is preferably 0W5°C. The compond of formula I is obtained, e.g., by reaction of a compound of formula II with another compound of formula III.
