Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain an ablation material which is excellent in thermal insulation properties even under a severe heating condition at a high pressure.
CONSTITUTION: This ablation material at least contains 100 pts.wt. vinylated organopolysiloxane mixture comprising 50-80wt.% vinylated diorganopolysiloxane and 20-50wt.% toluene-sol. vinylated silicone resin substantially consisting of R3SiO1/2 units (wherein R is a 1-10C monovalent hydrocarbon group) and SiO2 units in a ratio of R3SiO1/2 units to SiO2 units of 0.6-1.4, a hydrogenpolysiloxane in a molar ratio of the hydrogen atom to the vinyl groups of the organopolysiloxane mixture of 0.5-5.0, a catalytic amt. of platinum and/or a platinum compd., 150 pts.wt. or lower silica microballoons, 15 pts.wt. or lower silica glass fiber, and 15 pts.wt. or lower carbon fiber.
