Title:
ABRASIVES
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH01103259
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the grinding power and drastically reduce the polishing necessary time by uniformly exposing a portion of the grinding abrasive grains on the surface of a grinding member having a specific shape and uniformly dispersing the grinding abrasive grains inside.

CONSTITUTION: Abrasives consist of the unsaturated polyester resin and grinding abrasive grains, and the shape of the abradant is spherical. The grinding abrasive grains are uniformly dispersed inside a grinding member, and a portion is uniformly exposed on the surface of the abradant. Therefore, the edge part having an arcuate angle is rounded by the contact abrasion between the abradants and between the abradant and the workpiece during polishing, and the grinding abrasive grains which are exposed on the surface and whose grinding power is reduced are exfoliated in succession, and new grinding abrasive grains always appear on the surface. Therefore, a large grinding power at the initial stage of polishing can be maintained for a long period.
