Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reagent capable of simply and accurately determining the absolute configuration of a chiral compound such as mono-alcohol with high sensitivity without carrying out a complicated operation such as cooling and to provide a determination method using the reagent.
SOLUTION: This reagent is used for determining the absolute configuration of a chiral compound containing, as an active constituent, a metalloporphyrin dimer cross-linked by a carbon chain, having, in at least one of porphyrin rings of the dimer, a substituted group more bulky than a methyl group in at least one of second carbon atoms along the circumference of the porphyrin ring from the carbon atom bonded to the cross-linking carbon chain, and having a center metal of alkaline earth metal ion. This method is used for determining the absolute configuration of asymmetric carbon atoms of the chiral compound by using the reagent.
