Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absolute position determining method for machine tools that makes for precise setting of the position of working tools in machine tools using two driving links.
SOLUTION: On one plane of a workpiece as a measurement sample, a reference position (x1, y1), a first position (x2, y2), a second position (x3, y3) and a third position (x4, y4) are imprinted to stand on first to third straight lines 73 to 75 all parallel to one reference line 72 at respective intervals Δ1 to Δ3. With the tool shifted from an initial position (x0, y0) to the reference and first to third positions, the respective telescoping levels (e) to (h) and (p) to (s) of the first and second driving links are detected, From those telescoping levels (e) to (h) and (p) to (s) and intervals Δ1 to Δ3, initial lengths L and R and an interval H between supporting points 63 and 64 are computed. For tool- positioning, the initial lengths L and R and interval H thus obtained are determinative of the telescoping levels (e) to (h) and (p) to (s) of the first and second driving links.
