PURPOSE: To obtain a controlling agent accelerating the formation of tuber or root tuber of corms and effective for obtaining a large number of corms having high quality in production of corms such as potatos containing chelidonic acid, a salt thereof or an organic ester of chelidonic acid as active ingredient.
CONSTITUTION: One, two or more species of chelidonic acid expressed by the formula, a salt thereof and an organic ester of chelidonic acid are contained in the objective controlling agent as active ingredients. Said controlling agent is used in a case of accelerating the formation of tuber or root tuber of corms, e.g. potato, sweet potato, taro or Chinese yam by using a plant growth- controlling agent. In using, usually, a state of water soluble powder or water dispersible powder, especially a state of water soluble powder or emulsion of the ingredient is preferable. The concentration is 1-10000ppm, especially about 100-5000ppm is preferable. Chelidonic acid is a natural substance contained in Chelidonium majus as a plant belonging to Papaveraceae.
