Abstract:

To suitably perform charge accumulation control for a photoelectric conversion element array corresponding to a plurality of focal point detection areas.

The accumulation control device includes: a photoelectric conversion means having a plurality of photoelectric conversion element arrays A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2, D1, D2, each corresponding to a plurality of focal point detection regions set in a screen; and an accumulation control means, the means for controlling the charge accumulation of the photoelectric conversion element array, which is configured to divide the plurality of photoelectric conversion element arrays into two or more sets (A1, A2), (B1, B2), (C1, C2), (D1, D2), and to conduct the charge accumulation control in common to the photoelectric conversion element arrays belonging to the sets, respectively. The other photoelectric conversion element array (A2, B2, C2, D2) is subjected to accumulation control based on one of the photoelectric conversion element arrays (e.g. A1, B1, C1, D1) belonging to the sets, respectively, by the accumulation control means.
