PURPOSE: To more faithfully simulate musical sound in accordance with the kinds of musical instruments in an electronic musical instrument which generates musical sound of various kinds of natural musical instruments.

CONSTITUTION: A horn type speaker 9A, a dome type speaker 9B and a cone type speaker 9C are provided for the respective groups of the device. A control section 1 specifies a tone color to a sound source 4 and specifies the group, to which digital musical sound signals generated by the source 4 are assigned, to a distributor 5. The distributor 5 assigns the digital musical sound signals from the source 4 to a specified group and outputs them. At each group, the digital muscial sound signals are converted to analog signals and musical sound is generated by the respective speakers 9A, 9B and 9C. Digital musical signals of wind instruments, string instruments and percussion instruments tone colors are assigned to the speakers 9A, 9B and 9C, respectively.
