To provide an acoustic reproduction system, an ultrasonic speaker, a mobile terminal, and an acoustic reproduction method capable of executing local acoustic reproduction by reproducing acoustic signal data of a mobile terminal side by the ultrasonic speaker installed outdoors such as a street corner.

Wireless communication can be carried out between the ultrasonic speaker 1 installed at the street corner and the mobile terminal 2 and the mobile terminal 2 wirelessly transmits acoustic signal data to the ultrasonic speaker 1. The ultrasonic speaker 1 generates an audible frequency signal (audio signal) from the acoustic signal data received from the mobile terminal 2, the audible frequency signal modulates the carrier wave at an ultrasonic wave frequency band, the modulated signal is converted into an acoustic signal by an ultrasonic transducer and emitted in air. Thus, local acoustic reproduction can be executed by utilizing the ultrasonic speaker 1 installed outdoors such as the street corner without using a headphone and a built-in speaker of the mobile terminal itself.
