Abstract:
To provide a fan casing for a gas turbine engine having combination of blade confining function and noise suppression function.
This fan casing has an annular metallic inside shell 14 with a plurality of holes formed so as to pentrate through the casing. Acoustic absorber such as a cell-like resonator is disposed around the inside shell 14. The fan casing further includes an annular first cell-like material layer 40 arranged around the inside shell 14, and also includes an annular partition wall 44 arranged around the first cell-like material layer.
