Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain stability of an activation agent over a long period which is used for activating the surface of a product on which a silver mirror film is to be formed, when forming a silver mirror coating on the surface of the product consisting of various materials, and to improve hydrophilicity of the activation agent in order to allow it to be applied with a spray process and a dipping process.
SOLUTION: The method for preparing this activation agent comprises blowing oxygen into an aqueous solution including a stannous compound and hydrogen chloride, and further adding ferric chloride to the aqueous solution.
