Title:
ACTIVE MATRIX DISPLAY DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3297962
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To remove a beltlike defect at a lateral terminal part on a screen when the active matrix display device is driven in dot sequence.
CONSTITUTION: A display area 1 is constituted of plural gate lines Y wired in rows, plural data lines X wired in columns, and plural pixels PXL provided at their intersection parts. A vertical scanning circuit 2 scans the respective gate lines X vertically in order and selects pixels PXL of one line at each horizontal period. A horizontal scanning circuit 3 scans respective data lines Y in order in each horizontal period to sample a video signal Vsig, and writes the video signal to the pixels PXL of the one selected line in dot sequence. The data lines Y are classified into real data lines Y1-YL and dummy data lines YD1-YD4. The horizontal scanning circuit 3 scans the real data lines horizontally at sampling timing where plural data lines overlap with one another, and continues to scan the dummy data lines successively and horizontally at similar timing.
