PURPOSE: To make it possible to display an equal distance curve or the like indicating positions having an equal distance from a prescribed position on a map by superposing transparent map board to a liquid crystal(LC) display board, arranging a light source on the rear face of the superposed boards and preparing a signal generator for outputting a display signal.
CONSTITUTION: A transparent synthetic resin-made thin plate 7 displaying a world map M is held between an LC board 2 and a ground glass 6. When a power supply is connected and a 1st pushbutton 3a is depressed, the display of the LC board 2 is cleared at first. When the map position of a city of which distance and azimuth are required is depressed by a finger, data processed by an arithmetic circuit in the display signal generator 9 is plotted on the map as a closed curve indicating an equal distance and a waveform curve or the like and a meridian or the like passing the city is displayed. When a 2nd pushbutton 3b is depressed, The LC board 2 is cleared. When two poins on the map M corresponding to two cities of which mutual distance is required to be known are depressed by a finger tip, a calculated distance processed by the generator 9 is displayed on the lower column of the map M and the shortest distance connecting both the cities is simultaneously plotted.
