Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain compact and light actuator by forming a drive mechanism made of shape memory alloy in a flex spline and engaging a circular spline with external periphery of the flex spline. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of shape memory alloy 11-18 disposed radially on the diagonal lines are provided inside a flex spline 3, and a circular spline 2 is engaged with outside of the flex spline 3. Only a pair of shape memory alloy on the diagonal line out of the plural shape memory alloy 11-18 are sequentially heated and cooled, and the shape memory alloy 11-18 are expanded and contracted and rotation output is taken out from the circular spline 2 on the external periphery. Then, bearings of a drive mechanism and a harmonic gear become unnecessary, and an actuator can be made compact and light.
