Abstract:

PURPOSE: To adaptively obtain the image of a document based on the a priori knowledge of that document and to direct the obtained images while adaptively sorting them.

CONSTITUTION: The location of 1st type and 2nd type information blocks is limited to one correspondent document type among respective plural document types, plural document templates 48 are stored, and a table 50 for relating the 1st and 2nd type information blocks with 1st and 2nd type processing parameters is stored. Corresponding to the value of a recognized feature index, one of plural document templates 48 is accessed, the 1st type processing parameter from the table 50 corresponding to the 1st type information block from the image of the document in an image buffer 52 is selectively accessed and while using this parameter, information from the 1st type information block is processed.
