Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an address solution method and an address solution server for a network that registers a hardware address only of a server and host in an active state and can simply recognize a host server in an inactive state. SOLUTION: At the activation of a host 11, its hardware address 'HA' and a logical address 'LA' are broadcasted to a network; an address solution server 20 which receives them allocates the hardware address 'HA' and the logical address 'LA' of the host 11 for registration in an address table 210; and from the address solution servers 20, its own hardware address 'HS' and the logical address 'LA' are transmitted to the host 11.
