To perform cutting of a rigid and thick vinyl adhesive tape used for electric construction in addition to a thin tape by simultaneously forming a gripping margin at one end with cutting of the tape when the adhesive tape is peeled off.

In the tape cutter, the drawn out tape (4) is temporarily adhered to an apex part (61) of a turning support member having a predetermined clearance with a support/receiving head part (51) near a cutter (8) and a blade guide surface (61') near the apex part of the turning support member (6) is blade-guided when the tape is cut by the cutter by operation of a handle bar (11). After cutting of the tape, the apex part (61) of the turning support member approaches to the support head part (51) side to form a loop-like gripping margin (41) on a leading end of the tape. When the handle bar is returned to an original position, the apex part of the turning support member is left from a temporary adhesion surface of the tape and is reset to an original position and the loop-like gripping part is formed on the leading end of the tape cut to predetermined length by repeating the operation.
