To provide a bookrest comprising a book supporter plate made of a metal thin frame to support the back of a book, and a stopper also made of a metal thin frame to keep the book opened, which can be widened or narrowed in width so as to fit to any size of books.

This bookrest comprises two frames each made of a bent stainless rod. One of the frames, designed to support the back part of a book, is fixed slantwise on a base stand at an angle of 20 degrees backward, with its oval-shaped part at the upper part being extended to the length of an opened book width, and with its two legs at the inner lower part being inserted into the base stand. The other frame, designed to be used as a stopper for opened pages, is basically heart-shaped with its width larger than that of a large-sized book, but has a horizontal straight line at the bottom, with the upper inner curved part missing in the center. The upper ends of the stopper frame are folded down so that they can be hung or wound from the downside on or around the upper part of the book supporter frame when the lower end of the stopper frame is lifted. A book is set between the book supporter frame and the stopper frame, and fixed by adjusting the stopper frame sideways along the heart-shaped-like metal rod according to the size of the book.
