Abstract:
To provide an agent for making a material polluted with organic halogen compounds harmless capable of decomposing and making harmless organic halogen compounds (trichloroethylene etc.) in polluted soil, sludge, or aqueous solutions which cause environmental problems, in a short time without producing harmful by-products, and provide a method for producing the same, and a method of making harmless using the agent.
An Fe-Ni alloy obtained by alloying a mixture comprising 100 pts.wt. of Fe powder and 0.01-2 pts.wt. of Ni powder by a mechanical alloying method is used as the agent for making the material polluted with the organic halogen compounds harmless.
