PURPOSE: To obtain a removing agent for efficiently adsorbing tetrachloroethylene in water over a long period of time by mixing a metal or metal oxide-containing carbonaceous adsorbent with an adsorbent baked after coated with a resin.
CONSTITUTION: An adsorbent A composed of a carbonaceous material such as activated carbon containing a metal such as iron and metal oxide is used and an adsorbent B prepared by coating a carbon molded body formed by the molding of carbon with a resin such as a phenol resin and baking the coated one is used. The adsorbent A and the adsorbent B are mixed and the resulting mixture is wrapped in a water-insoluble reticulated material or solidified by a binder. The removing agent thus obtained efficiently adsorbs and removes a chlorine type org. solvent, especially, tetrachloroethylene contained in waste water or ground water over a long period of time.
