To provide an agitator which is more advantageous in view of strength during its agitating operation and provide an ice making machine having this agitator.

An agitator 51 is provided with an agitating rod 57 extending downwardly from a main body 53 toward a radial outward direction. The downward-directed agitating rod is comprised of a linear-shaped root part 65, an extremity end 67 and a curved intermediate part 69 positioned between the root part and the extremity end. An axis center of the extremity end is substantially crossed at a right angle with an inner surface of a stocker storing the agitator. In addition, a diameter of the root part is set larger than a that of the intermediate part.
