To provide an air conditioner for a vehicle capable of securing a space in a vertical direction at a central portion of the vehicle, attenuating noises generated inside the air conditioner body portion or noises transmitted inside the air conditioner body portion, and reducing a noise level in a vehicle inside.
In this air conditioner for the vehicle having the air conditioner body portion 3 in which an air passage 11 is formed, a duct portion 4 connected with the air conditioner body portion 3, a blower 5 which blows air through the air conditioner body portion 3, a temperature controller which controls temperatures of the air flowing in the air conditioner body portion 3, and a blowing mode switching device which selects an opening portion for blowing provided on the downstream side of the temperature controller and blows the air of which the temperature is controlled by the temperature controller, the air passages 11 up to the blowing mode switching device are divided into the right and left, the blowing mode switching devices 20a, 20b are divided and provided to the respective air passages, and a space portion 21 is provided between the right blower mode switching device 20a and the left blower mode switching device 20b.
