To provide an air conditioner without disturbing an atmosphere of an interior by wholly eliminating a recess-projection of an outside surface in nonuse, and without causing bewilderment by eliminating a sense of incongruity by adjusting an image of the intuitive wind direction when looking at a vertical wind direction plate to the blowout air current direction in use.
This separate type wall-mounted air conditioner can substantially close a blowout port by a plurality of vertical wind direction plates, and has an expanding part of a blowout air duct of expanding upward on the downstream side, and an upper side vertical wind direction plate positioned in a front part of the expanding part when closed, having a wind direction surface of a projecting central part on the obverse-reverse and having the hollow inside. When closing the upper side vertical wind direction plate, average curvature of the wind direction surface being an outside surface becomes larger than average curvature of the other end direction surface of the vertical wind direction plate. The wind direction surface being the outside surface becomes an under surface when turning the upper side wind direction plate in the horizontal direction, and becomes a rear surface when turning the upper side vertical wind direction plate in the downward direction.
